About Anonimo Stories

Simple, honest tools for looking at public social media content without signing in.

Anonimo Stories started with a small, everyday problem. Plenty of content on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and Snapchat is published for anyone to see, yet looking at it often means installing an app, creating an account or signing in. Saving a video for later is even harder. We wanted a quick way to do both from any browser, without handing over a password and without leaving a trail behind.

What we offer

Anonimo Stories is a set of six free tools. Every one of them works only with content that its owner has already made public:

All six tools are available in ten languages: English, Portuguese, Spanish, German, Turkish, French, Italian, Indonesian, Polish and Arabic.

Who uses it

Most of our visitors simply want to check something quickly: a brand's latest post from a work computer, a creator's highlight from a phone that doesn't have the app, or a recipe video they'd like to watch offline. Journalists and researchers use it to review public content, and creators use it to back up their own posts. What they have in common is that they want the content, not another account.

Our principles

  • Public content only. We never access private accounts, friends-only posts, direct messages or anything behind a login. If a profile is private, our tools say so and stop.
  • No passwords, ever. We never ask for your social media credentials, so there is nothing of yours to leak.
  • No search history. We don't keep a record of which usernames or links you look up. See our Privacy Policy for the details.
  • Honest about limits. If something isn't possible, such as a clean TikTok copy that doesn't exist or a private story, we tell you plainly instead of showing fake buttons.
  • Respect for creators. Being able to see a post doesn't make it free to reuse. We ask visitors to keep downloads for personal use and to credit or ask creators before reposting, and we act on valid copyright requests.

How it works behind the scenes

When you search a username or paste a link, our server requests the public data for that item from third-party data providers and from the platform's own media servers. The result is shown to you directly; we don't build a library of other people's content. Photos and videos are passed through to your browser in the quality the owner uploaded, and audio-only files are created on the fly when you ask for them.

Independent and ad-supported

Anonimo Stories is an independent project. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Instagram, Facebook, Meta Platforms, Inc., TikTok, ByteDance Ltd., Snapchat or Snap Inc. All trademarks belong to their respective owners and are mentioned only to describe what our tools work with. The site is free to use and is supported by advertising, which pays for servers and data access.
