Using a story viewer the right way
A few things worth knowing before you start, so you get the most out of the tool and stay on the right side of other people's privacy.
Public means public, not free to reuse
Being able to see a post doesn't mean you can republish it. If you want to share someone's photo or video, ask them or credit them properly.
Stories expire after 24 hours
A live story disappears a day after it's posted unless the owner saves it to a highlight. If the ring around a profile picture is missing, there's no active story right now.
Why some profiles won't load
Private accounts, recently renamed accounts and profiles restricted by Instagram can't be shown. Double-check the spelling of the username first.
We don't store your searches
Usernames you enter are only used to fetch that profile at that moment. We don't build a history of who looked up whom.
Common questions
Yes. Profiles are looked up by our server, never by your account, so your name doesn't appear in the owner's viewer list and they get no notification from you. The only exception is anything you do on Instagram itself after following a link out of this site.
No. It runs in any modern browser, including Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Samsung Internet. There's no extension or app to install.
No. Private accounts are only visible to approved followers, and we have no way around that. If a profile is private, the tool will tell you so and stop there.
The profile card shows follower and following totals. Instagram limits the full lists to logged-in users, so the followers icon opens that list on Instagram itself whenever we can't load it here.
Yes. The profile card has separate Posts and Reels tabs, and every reel opens in the same viewer with the same download options as a regular post.
Yes. Tap the round profile picture and pick "View Profile Photo". It opens at the largest size Instagram provides, which is often sharper than what the app shows.
